Is there any difference between the process of photosynthesis in plants found in the following regions 1.desert 2 area with heavy rainfall 3.moderate temp.and rainfall. Explain in detail,do
write examples of plants found in these conditions.
In desert plants, the stomata is open during night. During night, desert plants absorb carbon dioxide and form an intermediate. Then during day time when the stomata is closed to prevent loss of water, they use this stored carbon dioxide to perform photosynthesis.
This means that plants also don't take up as much carbon dioxide as they need. Therefore, photosynthetic activity slows down. On the other hand, too much water can also negatively affect plants. Their roots needs access to oxygen as well, but when there's too much water, the roots are 'clogged' and can't 'breathe'.
Plants consume carbon dioxide—a significant greenhouse gas—in the process of photosynthesis. The reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has an indirect cooling effect. Plants also cool the atmosphere because they release water vapor when they get hot, a process similar to sweating.
