how many chromosomes would be expected in each new daughter cell if the mother cell has 10 chromosomes?
what do you think would happen if both sister chromatids of one cell move to the same pole during mitosis?
After mitosis, the daughter cell has 10 chromosomes and after meiosis, the daughter cell has 5 chromosomes.
If both sister chromatids of one cell move to the same pole during mitosis, it may result to process of non-disjunction. As a result, we get aneuploidy cells or gametes with one cell having an extra chromosome n+1 (Trisomy) and the other with one less chromosome n-1(Monosomy).
