2. Cell membrane, cell wall, cytosol and cytoplasm are not organelles. Organelles are membrane-bound structures suspended in the cytoplasm. The cell wall is a rigid structure that provides shape to the cell, helps keep the organelles inside the cell, and does not let the cell burst from osmotic pressure. The cell is enclosed by a cell membrane, which is composed of phospholipids and proteins. Within the cell membrane is the cytosol, which is also known as the cytoplasm. This fluid portion of the cell suspends organelles, and enzymes and other proteins are produced within the cytosol.
