While proper filtration technique showed the location of the dye, it did not explain the process by which the dye moved to that location. Provide evidence that the dye moved to that location by active transport and not by simple diffusion.
During the diffusion, one side of the membrane is forced to other side of the membrane, while active transport involves movement of ions in a gradient of lower to higher concentration. Here, since the colour of the solution turns out to be pink red to orange yellow (i.e change in color) and from acidic to basic pH (i.e from lower to higher pH), we can say that the process involved active transport.
