The peripheral nervous system (PNS) has two components namely;
1. The somatic nervous system which is made up of nerves that connect to the voluntary skeletal muscles and sensory receptors. These include the affarent and efferent nerves.
2. Autonomic nervous system which consists of two components which are the sympathetic division( mobilizes the body to respond to emergencies) and parasympathetic division( helps the body conserve energy).
