RQ (respiratory quotient) is used to measure basal metabolic rate based on the level of carbon dioxide production. RQ near 1.0 reflects a condition when mainly carbohydrates are being metabolized, whereas RQ between 0.7-1.0 indicates that mostly fats (if RQ=0.7) or proteins (if RQ=0.8) are involved in the metabolic processes.

Dear customer, RQ is a ratio between eliminated and consumed carbon dioxide. RQ near 0.1 is not possible for humans and almost all other organisms. Such low value can be observed only in plants that absorb carbon dioxide and use it for the synthesis of carbohydrates (photosynthesis). In this case, it seems, that there was a mistake - 0.1 instead of 1.0. The values between 0.7 and 1.0 (or more) are used to describe the respiratory quotient in humans.
My question was RQ near 0.1 not 1.0
