Allele – one of the variant forms of a gene on a particular location or on a chromosome. Variations of inherited characteristics can beproduced by different alleles (for example, blood type, eye or hair color). Multiple alleles' pairs can affect differentcharacteristics. Eye color can be considered as an example. If the alleles are the same, the organism can be called homozygous for that characteristic, and if they are different, it can be called heterozygous. One alleles can dominateothers. Because of that they control to which degree a particular characteristic is manifested.
