What would be the major concern for an individual with type A blood who receives a transfusion of type B blood?
A recipient with type A blood does not have antibodies against A-antigen. However, the individual has antibodies against B-antigen present on the erythrocytes of the type B blood. As a result, the recipient's immune system will attack type B erythrocytes leading to their destruction (hemolysis).
