Describe how the MMR vaccine causes the body to develop immunity against measles, mumps and rubella.
The MMR vaccine contains attenuated measles, mumps, and rubella virus. When these viruses recognized by immune cells, they are absorbed, degraded and presented as single antigens. The combination of T and B cells provides the formation of specific antibodies against viral antigens. B -cells that produce active antibodies against viral antigens are transformed into plasma cells that constantly produce the immunoglobulins against viruses and provide immunity against measles, mumps and rubella.
