I don't get what it means by it is not governed by orientation given that taxis is a directional orientation of an organism in response to a stimulus.

It was said that the saponin in mahua oilcake initially acts as a piscicide and then the cakes get detoxified to act as a manure. How do they detoxify? Is it through simple diffusion, as the saponin is lost the oilcakes are said to be detoxified?
