ENVIRONMENT JURISPRUDENCE

It’s defined as a system of regulations and traditional laws that address the consequences of human activities on the natural environment, providing the groundwork for improving environmental management. Failure to adhere to these laws results in several punishments like fines, community service, and in some extreme cases, imprisonment. In the absence of these laws, the government would not be able to take action against those who treat the environment poorly. The areas that the laws are making progress on to minimize effects on the environment include;

1.      air quality, to prevent the occurrence of global warming, causing climate changes.

2.      managing radioactive waste materials from industrialization which causes acid rain to occur

3.      Water quality by managing the wastes released to the water bodies preventing groundwater pollution, killing the aquatic life, and spread of various diseases.

4.      Resource sustainability helps in the long-term availability of raw materials; renewable, and non-renewable.

5.      Preventing deforestation and hunting of endangered species.
