What body language will indicate that the medical assistant cares?
Body language, including gestures, postures and expressions, is a major communications exchange for the medical assistant. A medical assistant's body language should include: appropriate facial expressions depending on situation such as smiles to express friendliness, eye contact that is not staring, gentle touch and calm reactions to show that they care. Appropriate body language in a medical assistance aids communication, avoids unconscious messages, helps decode and react appropriately to people's visual cues and makes the patient comfortable.
