A continental rift is a crack or space. A mid-Oceanic ridge is a range of hills. A continental rift is a valley, and its formed when 2 continental plates spread apart. Mid-Oceanic ridge is formed when 2 oceanic plates spread apart or diverge forming new ocean floor. The topography of mid-ocean ridge and continental rift shows similarities because of the thermostatic uplift of the plate formation and cooling when the plate moves across the ocean.
