A simple argument is more or less as follows, “There is not enough time for learners to discover everything. Basic facts and ideas can be taught more effectively through well-planned and meaningful explanations. It is not necessary for learners to re-discover the wheel. ”
How would you respond to someone with this view regarding learning and teaching mathematics? Motivate your view by using realistic examples.
The constructivist approach is based on the idea that knowledge can never be passed from one person to another. The relevant studies show that using constructivist approach to the teaching of mathematics, the competences needed for sustainable development are boosted.
