Ridge Hospital has recently acquired and installed five laptops and ultra-modern biometric devices (computer embedded systems). As an IT expert, you have been
invited to do the following to the hospital staff:

(i). Show and explain the machines’ input devices and output devices.

(ii). Explain how these machines work together to receive inputs, process these inputs, generate output, and store the output onto output devices.

Write your answers to (i) and (ii) as a report for submission to the hospital management. This report will later form the basis of your presentation.

i) Show and explain the machines’ input devices and output devices

• Input device is a piece of equipment used to provide data and control signal to biometric system. For example blood analyzer connects to laptop and make examination of blood material.
• Output device is device that get information from input device and present output to user. For example special circuit board exchange the products of chemical reactions to digital signals thst laptop can analyze and present in human readable output.

ii)

• These machines must be turned on and connected to laptop that is also turned on.
• Install software that interprets the biometric data and run it, inject biometrial into the input devices.
• Analysis of the materials and save the result using software installed on laptops. Stored on computer’s RAM and ROM such as Solid State Disk (SSD) and Hard Drive Disk (HDD)
