1. A directory (also called a folder) is an array of information about a set of files and other directories. Directories are used to group files; however, actually they do not represent any physical "container" for files, since the directory and its files and subdirectories can be recorded to different sections of storage space. 2. An icon. 3. A terminal is an input/output device, which allows to communicate with remote computer. Basically it is a set of output device (display) and input device (keyboard or mouse). Smart and intelligent terminals have their own processing capabilities, while a dumb terminal does not.
