Chapter:4 Air pollution Sampling and Measurement
1. What do you meant by Air Quality monitoring? What is its importance?
2. List out the types of air quality measurement and also define them.
3. Mention the basic considerations during air sampling.
4. Write a short-note on collection of gaseous pollutant from ambient atmosphere. Also list out
the drawbacks of various collection methods for the gaseous air pollutant.
5. Explain following in details: (i) High-volume sampler (ii) Tape Sampler (iii) Impingement (iv)
Electrostatic precipitation (v) Thermal Precipitation
6. Describe Stack sampling.
7. Describe traverse point in detail.
8. With neat sketch explain various “ISOKINETIC TECHNIQUE” for sampling particulate-laden
gas stream from stack.
9. How gas sample is collected from a stack?
10. Discuss about the analysis of air pollutants.
Air quality is a measure of how clean or polluted the air is. Monitoring air quality is important because polluted air can be bad for our health—and the health of the environment. Air quality is measured with the Air Quality Index, or AQI.
