How a map can be used to address geographical questions such as where, what and why
To answer where: find a place you're looking for on your map.
To answer what: look for noticeable objects nearby your object to figure out how to get to this place.
To answer why: looking at a land from a larges scale, you may notice why larger cities has large rivers: because it served as a means for transportation to smaller towns.
