Punjabi people are one of the largest ethnic groups in India. They belong to the Indo-Aryan race and occupy most of Northern and central India and Pakistan. Besides the Punjabis, other groups belonging to the Indo-Aryan race are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kashmiri, Konkani, and Marathi.
The Dravidians are the second largest group in India and occupy the southern parts of India. They have five ethnic groups namely; Kannadiga, Malayali, Tulu, Tamil, and Telugu. There are minority group in India such as the Brachycephalic people comprised of the Irulas, Kodars, Paniyans, and Kurumbas tribes. The Austrics, the Mongoloids and the Brachycephals are other minority groups living in India.
