Give an account of how different landforms came into existence in East Africa.
Almost entire Africa, except for the Atlas Mountains in the northwest and the Cape Mountains in the extreme south, is an ancient platform, which also includes the Arabian Peninsula and the island of Madagascar with the Seychelles. The basement of this African-Arabian platform, composed of Precambrian rocks, mostly folded and metamorphosed, protrudes in many regions of Africa.
