Assess the importance of management strategies for desert fringe areas.

Harbour Island Bahamas has a beach on its eastern side that measured 3 miles on my Apple iWatch last year. This year it is 2.5 miles even though the north and south ends are bookended by the same rock formations. How could a beach loose 1/2 Mile in length?

I have an assignment on environmental regionalisation of the world ....which basis would I consider to be best for it ...would I consider Climatic types of the world .or different environmental types .. i.e- biomes ....
If I consider Climatic types then it doesn't include flora and fauna
...if I consider biomes it doesn't include the climate .....

What would I do now ?!
