Why do countries need to find “new consumer markets”?
Countries and mostly industrialized nations, always seek new consumer markets for their exports. Exports boost a nation's economic performance. Secondly, imperialism benefited the country in previous centuries. European imperialists cornered the wealth of other nations during colonization. Control of another nation's domestic markets enables a country to dump her consumer products in the foreign market. This activity will bolster production and technological development at home, thereby improving economic indices.
A country's GDP will increase when its exports create new consumer markets abroad. The economy is strengthened greatly with productivity. Thus, Countries needs to find new consumer markets for its exports to improve its economic performance.
