Do you agree with the view that Shahajahan's red Fort was a centre of Mughal spiritual and political powers? Explain.
I agree with the view that Shah Jahan's Red Fort was a center of Mughal spiritual and political powers. The Red Fort can be argued to be a center of political powers. It was Shah Jahan's new capital when he became Mughal Empire. It is a magnificent construction that has been a symbol of power since Shah Jahan's reign. It witnessed changes in Indian history, and it's where Indian independence from the British rule was first celebrated, and is still celebrated to date.
The planning of the palace was done based on Islamic prototypes, and it signified Mughal as the 7th Muslim state. There was a fusion of traditions namely Islamic, Persian, Timurid and Hindu. The construction of the Red Fort powered Shah Jah's characterization as the very ideal of a Muslim monarch.
