Higgs and Smith (2017) argue that, in education, “empiricism is important because it teaches that
we are born ignorant”. Construct a critical analysis of the statement
In Higgs and Smith (2017)'s theory of empiricism, people can acquire knowledge through learning or from any sensory experiment. That's why he pointed out that during birth people are born ignorant but as they grow, they acquire some knowledge purposely for eradicating that menace. Thus, this empiricism theory of Higgs and Smith (2017) was scientifically tested and observations obtained were considered to be true. However, Empiricists tend to be skeptical that anything can be known for certain and, therefore, they tend not to believe in dogmas or absolute truths.
