What the role of ethiopa women play in fight aganist fascist occupation of 1936-41
Ethiopian women played a significant role in the fight against fascist occupation of 1935-41. Apart from actively participating in battles, these women cared for the menfolk. Women camp-followers transported and prepared food and drinks for their husbands, brothers and masters. They also gathered fruits, roots, and some plants in case there was food scarcity. The women helped Red Cross members to carry the wounded, perform first aid, and nurse the wounded using traditional medicine. After the wounded has been tended to by the doctors, the Ethiopian women would carry the back to their relatives. These women had also learnt how to fight and clean their riffles and were also responsible for taking care of the young ones.
