How can you ensure that you offer great variety of teaching methods once you are a teacher
Once I become a teacher I would ensure I offer a great variety of teaching methods by doing the following; firstly, I will ensure that I give my learners a room for a choice. This involves giving my students a say in when and with whom they present their work. I will allow them to choose whether they present to the whole class, a small group or to the teacher. Secondly, I will give my students time to answer. I will achieve this by providing a mini-whiteboards for students to write answers and hold up to the teacher. This is because this approach reduces anxiety for students who fear failure as the answer can be erased, and gives the teacher immediate feedback about how well the students are learning.
Thirdly, I will ensure I offer a variety of teaching methods by allowing my learners to have time to discuss with their fellows some of the topics to be covered. Discussion with peers will allow all students to exploit their ideas freely without fear to their group members making them to understand better the content they are discussing about. Lastly, I will ensure that I create a balance of my lessons in classes. I will structure my lessons with a balance of listening and activity. This is because young people can listen effectively for about half their age in minutes e.g. if they are 12 they can listen for 6 minutes at one time.
