What happens to the headlights of a car if it had been accidentally smashed to a light post resulting to the breakage of the right portion of its headlight?

Headlights of any car are connected in parallel to the source. Thus, they can operate independantly, and if one light is damaged, the other ones can work as before. Hence the right lights of the car will be broken and the left lights will operate normally (assuming the sorce is not brocken as well).
