What is Pre-colonial African Societies and State formation in the Continent.
The Pre- colonial African Societies refers to the African social information before the coming the intruders especially the colonizers. Social organization in these societies was in general the village community with collective ownership of the land and they were recognized by the existence of slavery in most of these societies.
State formation in the Continent refers to where new nation states were formed in Africa during the 1960s than had been formed in the rest of the world for many centuries. This occured during the scramble and partition of Africa by European colonial masters in readiness to colonise Africa. That's how the states were formed in Africa.
