In the wake of the Covid-19, identify ONE Africa solidarity initiative, and discuss operational challenges
Africa has responded quickly to the pandemic as COVID-19 sweeps across the continent, and reported cases are now lower than expected. Even yet, a lot is on the line. Africans have made significant contributions to the continent's people's well-being in recent years. The economy has been booming. The digital revolution is here to stay. A free trade zone has been established. However, the pandemic poses a threat to Africa's progress. It will exacerbate long-standing inequities and increase poverty, malnutrition, and disease vulnerability. Africa's commodity, tourist, and remittances demand is already dwindling.
There has been a spirit of cooperation in improving preparedness and vigilance. The majority of them have moved quickly to improve regional cooperation, deploy health personnel, and impose quarantines, lockdowns, and border closures. In the fight against COVID-19, there has been complete solidarity with the people and governments of Africa. The endeavor has been hampered by the countries' lack of comprehensive debt structures. Starting with a debt moratorium for nations that are unable to fulfill their debt, followed by targeted debt relief and a comprehensive address to structural concerns in the international debt architecture to avoid defaults.
