Discuss policy evaluation or policy assessment &explain its purpose, objectives and benefits
Policy evaluation provides information to decision-makers by anticipating and analyzing the probable consequences of various policy solutions. Policy evaluation follows the same basic procedures as EIA and SEA (i.e., identifying the problem, defining objectives, identifying policy options, and analyzing impacts.). Through better decision-making, policy evaluation helps to promote public accountability, learning, and higher public sector effectiveness. Promoting both higher quality and more widespread use can help to ensure that assessment reaches its full potential.
