You have a VMware virtual machine on a ESX host with a production SQL database server. During a maintenance you cloned this virtual machine. Users started complaining that their saved work results in the database randomly disappear after they relog to the database, then sometimes appear back. Why does it happen?
1. It could be that ESX hosting configurations aren't correctly configured.
2. It could be that the firewall of the hosting machine is not allowing the VM to receive or retrieve traffic.
3. It could be that the VM was shut down either deliberately or by mistake after cloning and the admin forgot to power it back on.
4. It maybe the admin is using the production environment for troubleshooting and testing which is usually not recommended.
