I am looking at studying depolarization in catfish, using a cell culture I hope to measure this using muscle cells taken from the swimming muscle. I am also looking into the effect of a cholinergic crisis on depolarization. My question is, would I be able to sustain these cells under a cholinergic crisis, if I provided the necessary nutrients (Could this be explained if not)? If not, what causes damage to the depolarization function of the muscle cell during this crisis?
