What is the skeletal system of a cattle and how its skeletal features contribute to its adaptations? (5)
The cow has 7 cervical vertebrae , 13 thoracic vertebrae (and ribs), 6 lumbar vertebrae, 5 sacral vertebrae, and 18-20 coccygeal vertebrae. In the lower forelimb of cows, the radius and ulna are separate, but the ulna is quite slim. In the lower hindlimb the fibula has also reduced in size in comparison to the tibia. The cattle doesn’t have clavicles. The whole skeletal system is dedicated to support body and resist the gravitational force.
