Explain how the PLC initiative is associated to the Connectivism Philosophy
The PLC initiative represents collaborative learning communities that are fundamentally social and should be established in all schools. The PLC initiative is associated to the connectivism philosophy in that both promote group collaboration and discussion, allowing for different viewpoints and perspectives to facilitate problem-solving, decision-making and making sense of information. Connectivism is a model that promotes greater integration, diversity and distributed knowledge throughout networks, and is therefore characterized by openness, connectedness, autonomy and diversity. Correspondingly, plcs incorporate cooperative and collegial relationships as important aspects of the school community.
