A Soda Company is planning to change its
product design to make it more appealing to the
market. As an engineer of the said company, your
product manager asked you to design a new soda
container which can hold a volume of 500 mL.
The proposal of your design should come with a
blue print to be presented to the Board. The
Board would like to see the concept used, its
practicality, accuracy of computation, and the
organization of the report.
Product design is the process of identifying a market opportunity, clearly defining the problem, developing a proper solution for that problem and validating the solution with real users.
A blueprint of a product is essentially a map. showing the ingredients in that product, the. state of those ingredients, how they are.
During the concept and ideation stage a product’s functional and performance requirements can be defined along with buyer personas or ‘the voice of the customer’. Customer requirements and innovative functionality design ideas are floated and explored freely to find compelling potential solutions that answer an identified market need.
