1. Using a commodity of your choice compile a comprehensive marketing plan and its value chain
A marketing plan is a document listing your intentions for managing risk and capturing the Price levels you want in the commodity markets. My commodity will be Max Adventures which is a Unilever ice cream brand targeting children under the umbrella brand Frigo, which is the ice cream market leader in Spain. The following is an example of a comprehensive marketing plan and its value chain;
The first step is Market Size which is incredibly important for local businesses. For example, if I am selling ice cream, then how many households there are in my area, and how often do people buy ice cream in my area? Secondly, is the Industry Standards that is the current sales statistics in my industry, for example, average pricing, average turnovers and so on.
Thirdly, is Competition analysis. The ice cream company faces competition from other snack companies. This has greatly impacted negatively to the ice cream company.
Lastly, Target market. Knowing your target market for your company plays an important role in any business. Target market of my commodity entails the age of my clients and their gender as well. In this case, my target market is children of between 1-12 years and young ladies.
