Using the African modes of thinking, discuss the pitfalls of individualism in personology
In particular, individualistic systems urge people to pursue personal achievement, which creates competition between individuals. These systems can also result in high social mobility, which lead to high social anxiety. Individualist cultures tend to conceive of people as self-directed and autonomous, and they tend to prioritize independence and uniqueness as cultural values.
Individualism, that is the emphasis on individual rights and autonomy, has focus on the welfare of the general, inclusive group of individuals for example internationalism, and egalitarianism. It advocates eliminating the socioeconomic hierarchy, and has high tolerance for deviants and nonconformists.
