We all know that socialisation is a lifelong process and this process continues from birth to death. During our life course, both nature and nurture may or may not be playing an equal role in developing our own independent ‘self’. In your own life course till now, what (nature or nurture) would you consider to be a significant role played in your own socialisation process, and why?
As I was trained to interact successfully with other people in society, the nurture of how my parents reared me played a huge impact in my socialization process. The behavior taught promoted effective socializing with others, hence nurture played a vital role in the entire socialization process. My parents, in particular, have had a considerable impact on the development of our own autonomous'self.' They have influenced my growth in a variety of ways, shaping me into the person I am today. My parents are role models for me and provide a good example. They introduced me to new scenarios by taking me to various locations, they taught me various skills, and most importantly, they taught me how to be a holistically responsible individual. My parents also shaped mannerism, which is a foundational component of my life.
