Reflect 4 implications mass media poses for community life
Mass media refers to the primary means of communication through a diverse collection of media technologies that enable the general public to pass information to each other. The most prevalent media outlets used to transmit information comprise the Internet, television, radio, newspapers, etc. Mass media is a powerful revolution that has posed various implications on community life, both positive and negative. I will reflect on the four implications of mass media on community conduct, two positive and two negative.
Positive Implications
i) Mass media has enhanced businesses significantly by easing customer access, improving customer attraction and loyalty, and providing a cheaper way for businesses to advertise their products and services.
ii) Mass media has also remarkably transformed how individuals socialize. Various platforms such as Instagram and Facebook have made it easy for relatives and friends to connect frequently.
Negative implications
Mass media also has negative implications on community life despite impacting society positively.
i) Mass media has been a basis for criminal activities such as escalated cyber-crimes and deceitful acts.
ii) The electronic gadgets associated with mass media have proved to be addictive. Consequently, they can cause health complications.
